Keimyung University's Dongsan Library and Seoul National University’s Kyujanggak Institute of Korean Studies have signed a business agreement to strengthen academic exchange activities related to the collection of materials. Through this agreement, both parties promised to discover collective materials, utilize research results, and work to jointly benefit the two institutions.
The Keimyung blood donation event was held from May 9th to May 11th. This is the event organized by Keimyung University and the Korean Red Cross and is a meaningful event that saves lives with the participation of professors, employees, and students at Keimyung University. Students participating in the event not only received four hours of volunteer work but also received blood donation souvenirs.
On March 21st, KMU International Lounge held a Welcome Party for the foreign exchange students and their Korean buddies. The party began at 6 PM and wrapped up at 8 PM. At the party, both Korean and International students gathered and got to know each other, eating pizzas and fried chickens provided by the lounge.
Two Keimyung University students received the President’s Award of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The WE-MEET project provided opportunities for students to develop proficiencies by experiencing future job fields. They successfully performed a project called Realistic Media Regionally Specialized Contents Production, which supported manufacturing reality-based simulations by utilizing various game servers, such as Photon, Photon Chat, Playfab, and AWS.
Among the universities in Daegu and Gyeongbuk area, only Keimyung University was selected as the only 2023 local content-oriented university awarded by the Ministry of Small Enterprise and Market Service and Startups and organized by the Small Enterprise and Market Service. A total of seven universities were selected, including Keimyung University.
Preliminary Korean language teachers from Ukraine participated in the training course for overseas Korean teachers from Monday, November 14th to Sunday, November 20th at Keimyung University. They spent time learning basic skills to educate students about Korean culture through wearing hanbok, hosting tea ceremony experiences, SamulNori, and Korean writing classes. chloe7265@naver.com
On December 6, the 42nd Keimyung Literature Awards took place in Hengso Museum. The awarded works were Scented House by Seung-seop Kwon(Best Poem), Liqiu by Chae-won Oh(Best Short Story), and When the phone rings by Song-mi Kim(Best Dramatic Literature). vaney1998@gmail.com
On November 3rd to 4th, Keimyung International Conference on the Silk Road and Central Asia was held at Dongcheon Hall. The conference was organized and hosted by Academia Via Serica and Keimyung University and was also supported by Gyeongsangbuk-do.
