Keimyunggeukuhoe, a Keimyung theater group, was invited from the National Student Theater Festival of Japan. They participated in the festival from Feb. 24 to Feb. 27 watching the students’ plays, and on Feb 26, they performed their own play named ‘A Life Thief’. The story is about the ‘Life of Two Thieves’ who rob each other’s life by robbing each other’s stuff. After watching the Japanese plays and performing their own play, the Keimyung students gathered with the local students and had a celebration. The group returned from Japan on Feb 27.
A special exhibition of Bronze Age artifacts from Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do is being held until March 31st in Hengso Museum. This exhibition is based on a 10-year excavation and investigation by The Samhan Institute of Cultural Properties. There are many relics such as earthenware, stone blades, stone axes and pictures explaining where these relics are from.This exhibition is a good chance to see the process of development and decline of the Bronze Age in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do. Over the last several years, the Keimyung Volunteering Team has volunteered from Asia to Africa in countries such as China, Nepal, Vietnam. This year, the Keimyung Volunteering Team went to Ethiopia-Laos-Cambodia-Philippines. 140 volunteers are assigned from 30 to 33 to take care each villages. As Shin Ill-hee, the president of KMU, participated in the 16 Africa countries’ monthly meeting, this volunteer work began to gel. The 4th visiting Humanities Forum was held with the regional volunteering group ‘Cheongnarae’ at KT&G Atelier on January 4th. It was conducted by the Keimyung Humanities Capability Reinforcement Business Organization. The Writing Center held the Tabula Rasa Seminar on September 15, 2017. This seminar was a lecture for author, professor, that study and analyze eastern and western classics and modern masterpieces in order to teach students. KMU granted an honorary Doctorate in Public Administration Science to Bakhodir Khodiev, the president of Tashkent University of Economics, at the international seminar room on November 7.
