  • What Do You Think about Going Dutch?

Maybe going Dutch is a very sensitive issue for both men and women. Many couples are at a loss for what to do at the counter. In my case, I pay for some desserts such as coffee or drinks if my boyfriend pays for a meal. I am accustomed to paying less than him. It is also very common in general for couples. However, I sometimes see a woman who never spends her money when she has a date with her boyfriend. More shockingly, that woman is my friend. I’ve asked her about her concept of going Dutch. The answer was simple, “There is no wonder that I am treated well because I am worth it”. There’s som

What Do You Think about Veterans Extra Point System? In Korea, only men are required to serve in the military, but every young man and woman has to serve in the army in Israel and Cuba. After 2015, women will be also required to serve in the military in Norway, but because Norwegian society has consideration for women, their service will be implemented without serving in serious conflicts. Some of the women in Korea want to be treated the same as discharged soldiers. “Military service is just military service, and we should protect gender equality,” that’s what they say. I think that’s not rea

Which movie inspired you the most? When I was 16 years old, I encountered a movie entitled The Song of the Sun. I chose it because its cover was beautiful. Kaoru (Yui) is 16-year-old girl who lives in a quiet seaside town. She can’t go in the sunshine because she has a rare skin disease, so the only thing she can do is sing and play the guitar when the sun goes down. Her secret pleasure is looking at a boy named Kogi through the window. They fall in love, and it grows more and more each day. One day she realizes she will die soon. The most impressive scene is when Kaoru sings a song entitled “G

If You Had 10 Million Won, What Would You Do? If I got that money, it would be hard to not buy everything I want. So first, I will deposit half of the money in the bank. Then I will give some of the money to my parents. I think it will be hard to give away that money, but after giving away that money, I will be proud of myself. I will give my two younger brothers some money. I think I haven’t done anything for my brothers yet. It may not be a big thing for my brothers, but I wish my brothers knew my feelings. I will donate the rest. It may be a small thing, but contributing to society is meani

My Opinion on International Love Korea, our nation, is becoming a multi-cultural society. Foreigners from various countries marry Koreans, and the number of their kids is increasing. We can easily meet many foreigners while walking on the street. As the world is dominated by globalization, I think people don’t have to marry people of the same nationality. The reason is that they have the right to select their partners regardless of nationality. Marriage could happen if a couple understands each other and wants to be together for their entire lives. In conclusion, the most important thing is no

The Most Impressive TravelLast year, I went to Busan with my girlfriend whose name is Kim Na-hee. The reason we went to Busan was to look at the sea and eat sashimi. In the early morning, we took a train from Daegu to Busan. After arriving in Busan, we went to Jagalchi Market to eat sashimi. As expected, the sashimi was really fresh and delicious, although it was a little expensive. It was more delicious because I ate that with my girlfriend. After eating sashimi, we went to Gwangalli because we wanted to look at the sea. Gwangalli was very beautiful! But Na-hee was more beautiful than the sea

The Most Impressive Memory This Year Joining the Flash Mob Club is one of my most memorable experiences in 2012. As usual, I was passive and quiet, but my friend convinced me to join the club. When I first met the club members, they seemed to get along really well. For this reason, it was quite hard for me to get close to them. However, while preparing for a flash mob event in Dongseongno, I made many friends and I learned how to get close to people. After performing, I felt a sense of achievement and passion. Flash mob was the activity that I invested a lot of time in and it also comprised a

The things I want to do before 30 Fluency in foreign languages is what I really want to achieve to enrich my life. I think speaking a foreign language is a wonderful thing. Speaking at least five languages well, including my mother tongue, is my goal now. I have learned English for a long time and I can speak Japanese, Spanish and French a little. Learning these three languages is still at the beginning stage. However, I am just 22 now and have eight years until I’m 30. Someday I will visit a lot of foreign countries and talk with local people without any difficulty.By You Won-heeJunior, Hanya
