The things I want to do before 30

Fluency in foreign languages is what I really want to achieve to enrich my life. I think speaking a foreign language is a wonderful thing. Speaking at least five languages well, including my mother tongue, is my goal now. I have learned English for a long time and I can speak Japanese, Spanish and French a little. Learning these three languages is still at the beginning stage. However, I am just 22 now and have eight years until I’m 30. Someday I will visit a lot of foreign countries and talk with local people without any difficulty.

I have many dreams, so I want to do many things before 30. First of all I want to start two businesses. First, I want to open a clothes-rental business. Nowadays, rental services are becoming more popular for clothes like wedding dresses and traditional Korean clothes (hanbok). I want to rent more casual clothes. Also, I want to have a water-related business. Water is a really important resource. I want to a find job that is suitable for my major. I don’t want to get stressed about getting a job. Instead, I want to experience jobs I want. By sightseeing, meeting lots of people and experiencing many things, I want to enter society and live my own life.

I don’t have any idea yet like “Oh, this is the one thing that I really want to do before turning 30”. But, I have things that I really want to do right now. One of them is taking a trip around Korea. Recently, I applied to a travel program, but I failed to be chosen. I don’t know the exact time when I can go, but I want to participate in it. The reason why I want to take part in is I want to feel my youth by facing challenging situations and really being at the end of my rope. For these reasons, I want to experience ‘crossing country’ before turning 30.

I have a dream of traveling in more than 10 countries before 30. Because I get nervous easily, I usually take a trip, so I can get refreshed and composed. Whenever I travel, I can reflect on myself to figure out what I really want. Also, by traveling in other countries, I can gain an understanding of and appreciation for other people and cultures. I want to be a person that considers, understands and helps other people. I also want to know and set my goals and advance in my job. Therefore, I hope to learn how to be that person while traveling.
