The 2007 conferment ceremony was held on the Seong-seo, Dae-myung, and Dong-san campuses on February 14 and 19. A Keimyung University student team held a gakseoli performance titled Beggar’s Love at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, a world famous festival, last summer. Gakseoli is an old Korean beggar song and dance for food. The performance of the ten members was the first case of a Korean university student team joining the festival. The BBC showed their performance, and they were invited to perform at the opening of a theater festival in Spain in May. Various volunteer works were performed during the winter. Firstly, the College of Environment and the General Student Club Association participated in volunteer works at the Taean oil accident, which happened in December. In the College of Environment, about 50 students and professors went there on December 20. The Philippine Tourist Service in Korea held a concert in Bauer Hall on November 20.The musicians, Jimmy Marquez and the Streetbeat Band, performed Philippine music to Korea students in order to publicize the Philippines.In addition to enjoying the music, students had a chance to win a return trip to the Philippines and T-shirts. The 40th President`s National Mountaineering Competition was held at Halla Mountain’s Gwaneum Temple on Jeju Island on June 9 and 10. The Keimyung University Alpine Club (KUAC) was ranked first in the women’s college event and second in the men’s college event. Four men and three women participated in the competition. This competition’s events were divided into several sections including rock-climbing, mountain marathon, map reading, and first aid. The Graduate School of Business (GSB) will begin an English-only Global Masters of Business Administration (GMBA) this fall semester. A presentation about the new course was given in the multi-media room in the annex of Bauer Hall on April 3 and 4. The GMBA program requires a two-year full-time commitment. In order to graduate, students must complete 45 credit hours. There are 10 core courses and 5 elective courses.
