The Keimyung 1% Love Sharing Movement had a “Christmas Celebration of Love” on December 8. About 30 members participated as volunteers. In this event, about 70 children from Eden Orphanage and about 90 members of U.S. army families who reside in Korea were invited. After they had lunch at Adams Chapel, there were many events including an organ performance, a taekwondo performance, and a magic show. In addition, the U.S. army families prepared presents for the children.
Keimyung Theater Club donated 1000 kg of rice to Shindang Community Welfare Center on December 28. They served meals with the General Student Club Association there. Moreover, Keimyung Volunteer Group, which is composed of the staff who take charge of cleaning and maintaining the buildings and the landscape in Keimyung University, contributed 500,000 won to Shindang Community Welfare Center by selling all kinds of recyclable materials on the same day.
Jeong Han-Soo, the leader of the Keimyung Volunteer Group, said, “It was hard to gather recyclable materials, but it was helpful to think of the joy of the needy in our community.”
