The spring kendo championship for universities was held from May 9 to 11 at Chungbuk Boeun National Sport Center.On May 11, for the first time, Keimyung University kendo team won the championship. Going into the final, they had won each game by only one point. In round 1, they beat Incheon University 3 to 2. In round 2, they beat Sungkyunkwan University 4 to 3. In round 3, they beat Youngsan University 4 to 3. In the semifinal, they beat Daegu University 3 to 2. In commemoration of the 27th Teacher’s day, most colleges held events and athletic meetings with teachers and students. The Department of Korean Language and Literature had an event called “Eating rice under the same roof” and reflected on the meaning of Teacher’s Day. In addition, the newly-established Department of English Education held an event for Teacher’s Day and their foundation ceremony. “Music at Noon” is being held every Thursday in the Social Sciences Building on Seongseo campus from May 1. The event, organized by the General Student Council and the College of Music and Performing Arts, is being held to inform Keimyung students of the moving of the College of Music and Performing Arts to Seongseo campus and to help people to appreciate music performances.The Keimyung chamber orchestra plays seven or eight pieces of popular and classical music, and its performances continue until June 5. The 2007 Keimyung Changing Daily Life Project, Han-gil Madang, and the Dan-sim Club Festival were held in Seong-seo campus from September 18 to 20.The main theme of the 2007 Keimyung Changing Daily Life Project was "Rainbow of Seven Colors." The first meeting of the KCTL Study Skill-up Program, entitled "Planing for a new semester and time management," was held at Bauer Hall on Sept. 11.The Center invited Prof. Jo Yong-gae, from Kangwon University Teaching and Learning Development Center. Degree certificates for students graduating in summer vacation were distributed on August 21. In total, 885 students received bachelor’s degrees, including 70 from the Faculty of Social Sciences, 151 from the Faculty of Business Administration, 61 from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, and 116 from the Faculty of Engineering.
