On June 30, Professor Shin Jin-kyo, Department of Business Administration, was appointed the head of Daegu Technopark planning. Daegu Technopark announced the appointment following an open-recruitment process. He will carry out planning for Daegu industry and an overhaul of planning and evaluation of projects for Daegu-city.Prof. Shin graduated from Keimyung University and received a master’s degree and doctorate from the Graduate School of Business at Yonsei University. From June 24 to 27, a musical workshop was held at the College of Music and Performing Arts, and many young people with a love and passion for musicals attended. Seok said that the spirit of Habitat is love, service, practice, harmony and Christianity. The work Habitat mainly does is building houses for homeless people. On May 15, Keimyung University had an unveiling ceremony in front of Dongsan Library attended by President Synn Il-hi, Keimyung professors, and students. The monument had a special meaning in that it was offered by teachers to students celebrating teacher’s day. This ceremony was held for the purpose of appreciating those who contributed much to Keimyung University.Building names have been changed: Baekeun Hall has become Seokchonsil, named after emeritus professor Hong Young-seok; the students′ hall in the College of Engineering has become Yeononggyan, named after emeritus professor Kim Jung-hwan; and the arbor of Keimyung Hanhakchon will now be known as Seounjung, named after emeritus professor Lee Joong-woo.
