On September 16, Keimyung University held a ceremony in front of Dongsan Library. Students from the Department of Japanese Language and Literature won the 2nd prize in the 9th Japanese Theater Festival which was held under the auspices of the Consulate General of Japan. The festival took place at YENO Art Hall in Kyungsung University on September 5. Keimyung University plans to change the Department of Architecture into the College of Architectural Studies next year. The College of Architectural Studies' curriculum will range from environmental and integrated studies to interior design and construction, city, and landscape architecture. On June 12, Keimyung University was selected as an HRD (Human Resource Development) supporting university for fostering regional industries along with Kyungpook National University. On August 28, in front of the College of Engineering, the HRD center opening ceremony was held. About one hundred people participated, and the center concluded MOUs (Memorandums of Understanding) with five medical enterprises.The center is expected to conclude agreements with more than fifty enterprises within the year. Kim Min-ju, a student in the Department of Visual Communication Design, won first prize in the Samsung Young Campus Reporter Contest. In the contest, Kim wrote an article and did public relations for Samsung. For this contest, she took pictures and uploaded them to her homepage. Furthermore, she added cartoons to increase readers’ attention. She said, “Through reporter activities, I realized that improvement of contents and design which can get a response from readers are important.
