The 5th Global International Internship Congress (GIIC) was held in Keimyung University from April 17 to 20. The GIIC is an exciting conference which focuses exclusively on the topic of international internships. A special lecture on sex education for children was held under the auspices of the Dalseo Healthy Family Support Center in Backeun Hall on March 30. Keimyung University's Career Development Center for College Women has various programs to improve the employment chances of Keimyung women. One of the programs is the "My Career Management Program" that is executed all year round for the 150 female students recruited into the program. Keimyung University recently received good evaluations for its facilities for the disabled. There are ten disabled students currently registered at Keimyung with three of them temporarily on leave. Since the year 2000, seven disabled students have graduated from Keimyung. On March 20, the Spanish ambassador to Korea, Ambassador Delfin Colome, visited Keimyung University to sign an educational cooperation agreement between Keimyung University and major universities in Spain. Ambassador Colome stated that outstanding professors from Keimyung and major Spanish universities will be exchanged through the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECI). The Campus-wide Communication Culture (3C) campaign's declaration ceremony was held on March 22 in Euiyang Hall with three hundred Keimyung people in attendance including President Lee Jin-woo. The Kemmy competition held twice a semester, is now going to be held just once a year in the second semester. For two years, all freshmen students were pleased to prepare their presentations in Everyday English Conversation classes with the best from each teacher's class selected to join the final round.
