The Korean Language Institute, Center for International Education, is on the way to spreading the beautiful value of the Korean language and its culture to the world. It is the first organization in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region to establish a Korean cultural center abroad. The past six years of management experience, know-how, and man power sources in the Korean Language Institute and its related departments have led to founding the “Keimyung Korean Language and Culture Center” in Vietnam (Da Nang University, Da Nang) on April 14 and Tadzhikistan (National Foreign Language University, Dushanbe)
On April 5, the 17th Kyungju Cherry Marathon was held in front of Kyungju World Culture Expo. Sponsored by Kyungju city and the Sports Hochi, a Japanese newspaper, the marathon included full course, half course, 5 km and 10 km courses, and a walking course. 13,000 people participated, including 800 Japanese people. Ninety Keimyung people ― Lee Jin-woo, the president of KMU, members of main administration, professors' marathon club and Keimyung club ― participated in the marathon. Hengso Museum ended the exhibition "Treasures from a Golden Age of China" on February 24, and reopened on April 1. The regular opening hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and it is closed on Sundays and national holidays. The permanent displays consist of two exhibition halls which display remains from the Old Stone Age to the Age of the Three Kingdoms and from the Age of Three Kingdoms to the period of Joseon Dynasty. On March. 27, a “Stammitisch Deutsch” event was held at the International Lounge under the auspices of the Department of German Language and Literature. On March 25, a ceremony to mark an “Agreement on Academic Research Exchange” between the TMR (Traditional Micro-organism Research) center and the KFRI (Korean Food Research Institute) was held at the conference room of the Main Administration Building. This agreement aims at providing more opportunities for study.
