The 5th Global International Internship Congress (GIIC) was held in Keimyung University from April 17 to 20. The GIIC is an exciting conference which focuses exclusively on the topic of international internships. It is an opportunity to network with individuals from different countries, disciplines, universities, and internship providers. This congress began in 1999 and is held every two years. Keimyung University recently received good evaluations for its facilities for the disabled. There are ten disabled students currently registered at Keimyung with three of them temporarily on leave. Since the year 2000, seven disabled students have graduated from Keimyung. Gu Bo-soon from the Academic Administration Team said, “I expected that there would be morethan 17 disabled students here, but those with lesser disabilities tend not to register as disabled students.”There are 55 disabled parking spaces out of a total of 1,222 spaces on campus. On March 15, the Russian ambassador to Korea, Ambassador Gleb A. Ivashentsov, gave a special lecture in Haengso Museum. The lecture's subject was "Russia's Asian policy and relations between Korea and Russia." Ambassador Ivashentsov explained Russia's relations with Korea and the nuclear problem of North Korea, and he helped students understand the lecture through a question and answer session following the lecture. Twenty-one students and graduates from Keimyung University passed the employment examination for teachers which was conducted between December 2006 and January 2007.
