At the 87th National Sports Festival, Keimyung University contributed to Daegu's good results with 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals. One hundred and forty six students from Keimyung University participated in 13 sports including baseball, archery, judo, track and field, taekwondo, and tennis. Our archers earnt the best results with 2 gold medals, a silver medal, and a bronze medal. Archer Lee Hyo-kyoung won a gold medal and a silver medal. The other medals won by Keimyung students were a gold for tennis, two silvers for track and field and a bronze each for judo and taekwon
The Keimyung Philosophy Discourse Camp was held from August 17 to August 19 over three days and two nights at the Department of Philosophy. About 60 high school students from Daegu participated in the camp. The students received lectures about Eastern and Western philosophy and had essay writing training. Since 2003, the camp has helped local students practice the logical thinking and writing skills they need to advance in today's society. The 2006 Open University for high school students from Daegu and Gyeongsang province took place between July 19 and 21. About two thousand high school juniors participated in this event.
