Keimyung University will launch a Super-Mentor Program that will run from August to December 2011. This program was devised to support students and create an atmosphere of effective foundation building. The mentees will be paired with an expert who works in a relevant field to develop a mentoring relationship over a period of time. They will be given one-on-one tutoring so they can learn the foundation of their field, such as the steps between drawing up a business plan and making a final product. The Leaders team, Department of Media and Information, won the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family prize of 1,500,000 won in the Korea Youth UCC (User Created Contents) Camp which was held for the Daegu World Athletics Championships. This event included programs such as making Daegu maps, a green tour, and a youth club festival. Young people from all over the country made images of Daegu heritage sites and tourist spots in Daegu. Keimyung University Undergraduate Choi Young-yoon Interns at the UN From March to July 2011, Choi Young-yoon, an undergraduate student at Keimyung University interned at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Choi Young-yoon is 23 years old, and in the Keimyung Adams College (KAC) department of International Relations. She said that “the UN followed the custom that required interns to be graduate students who had studied a related major. Actually I did not have such qualifications. So I had good luck and was offered a big opportunity to work at the UN as an undergraduate.”

The Department of Industrial Design produced finalists in the International Design Excellence Awards 2011 (IDEA), which is sponsored by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA).
