Hengso Museum Exhibition Halls

On June 23, Hengso Museum opened its regular and special exhibition halls to the public to stress the importance of traditional culture.

Fifty pieces of traditional folk paintings are on display in the special exhibition hall on the first floor and 1500 pieces from the Gaya period can be seen in the regular exhibition hall on the second floor.

The exhibition, under the title "Exhibition of Folk Paintings Donated by Ms. Kwon Jeong-soon," includes five contemporary folk paintings of lotus flowers, flowers, and birds.

Son Keun-ho, the head researcher of art and letters in Hengso Museum, said, “In this exhibition, Hengso Museum is exhibiting fifty traditional folk paintings and five paintings donated by Ms. Kwon Jeong-soon. By comparing both traditional and contemporary folk paintings, viewers can look back on the spirit of their ancestors and compare the differences.”

In addition, an event entitled "Drawing Traditional Korean Fans" took place on July 10, 17, and 24. Kwon Jeong-soon, a representative of the Institute of Korean Traditional Folk Paintings, said, “In Korea, there is a traditional custom of presenting neighbors with fans in the summer. I hope people will have much interest in and enjoy these events.”

The official opening hours of Hengso Museum are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and it is open everyday (except Sunday and public holidays). Admission is free.
