Before entering KIC, I didn't know much about Keimyung International College, but the fact that its professors are all foreigners, and the majors I might be studying, IB (International Business) and IR (International Relations), will be taught in English made me so excited. Even though I lived in America and Australia for several years, I mainly learned English by the cramming method. In the beginning, I was not used to taking English lectures spoken in English, so it came as a big challengen to me.
When I was a high school student, I dreamt of a campus life full of passion and romance. However, I came to know that the dream would not come to my life naturally without any voluntary effort. For this reason, I feared how to start my freshman year, but, at the same time, I eagerly expected to study and learn anything more with passion.
When my first semester in KIC began, studying many subjects only in English came to me as a spirit of adventure, but it also sometimes kept me overwhelmed. However, as time went by, I became satisfied with my life in KIC. Foreign professors treated students as if their students were their own children, and took care of the students with mentor-mentees program and with an open mind. Sometimes, I had to stay, late because I had so many KIC assignments to do, but through my hard time in KIC it made my other friends and my own English ability grow.
It is mandatory for KIC freshman students to live in the dormitory during the freshman year, so they stay in the same dormitory building. We spent much time together like a real family, and to some extent, all sixty students became truly reliable friends to one other. Even though we met in the university as adults, we grasped the strength and weakness of ourselves, and also understood our different personalities. The precious time together made our relationship closer and it made us feel a strong bond in KIC and also in Keimyung.
In my opinion, life in KIC is an open place for students to prepare their future with a strong passion. My freshman days with the fear and venturesome spirit, and my present sophomore year will be the time for preparing to get my future job step-by-step. Even though I don't have any seniors in KIC, I am very proud of my days as a KIC student, and also of myself as the first student in KIC.
