The 45th General Student Council Election

The 45th General Student Council (GSC) elections and the 24th General Women's Council (GWC) elections will be held on November 21.
The candidate for GSC president this year is Kim Chang-hoon, a sophomore from the Department of Economics (evening school), the vice-presidential candidate is Son Jung-uk, a sophomore from the Department of Biology, and the candidate for the GWC is Kim Jung-suk, a sophomore in International Commerce (evening school). There was just one candidate for each position this year except for the College of Education and the College of Humanities. Voters were asked to either approve or disapprove of each candidate.

According to school rules, the election will be conducted by 37 Central Election Management Committee members who consist of GSC candidate observers and GWC candidate observers. The election campaign was held from Nov. 12 to 20.

The candidates have pledged to expand the installment payment of tuition fees, increase the number of school buses, hold more special lectures, and increase communication among the student community.
Each candidate will be elected by receiving more approval votes than disapproval votes regardless of the number of voters. Voting is from 8 a.m. to 10:20 p.m. on November 21. All students are allowed to vote except students who are on temporary absence from school. Voters require a student ID, a national ID card, a driver´s license, or a passport. Not using official ballot paper, failure to mark “approve” or “disapprove,” unclear marking of the ballot paper, or marking outside the approve/disapprove boxes will result in spoilt votes. The vote counting will take place on the 4th floor of the 1st Student Union Building from 11 a.m. on the 21st.

On November 16, the General Student Club Association's election was held. Kang Byeong-jae, a junior from the Department of Taekwondo, was elected president, and Park Jong-won, a junior from the Department of Transportation Engineering, was elected vice-president. They received 36 of the 39 votes.
