The 88th National Sports Festival

152 Keimyung students participated in the 88th National Sports Festival for 7 days from October 8. The National Sports Festival has been held every year since 1920 to popularize sports and to improve national culture. The students took part in 13 events including football, taekwondo, judo, archery, athletics, tennis, and fencing and got three gold medals, one silver medal, and six bronze medals.

Just like last year, students who participated in archery had the best results. Jang Hye-jin (Department of Physical Education, sophomore) got three gold medals in the individual, 30m, and 60m competitions and a silver medal in the 70m competition. Ryu Su-Jung, the archery coach, said, “We have many difficulties producing national athletes. We will strive for a better future based on these good results." Professor Kim Jang-Hwan, (Department of Sports and Leisure Studies and Dean of the College of Physical Education) said, “I am happy to see students improving their ability and thank the students for enduring all the hardships of training with enthusiasm."
