A Confucian academy was established on campus for the first time in Gyeong-buk province. Confucian academies are nonprofit educational institutions that the Chinese government supports to spread its culture and language. Now, 140 universities have Confucian academies and 8 universities have them in Korea.
The academy provides various Chinese programs with multi-media including teacher programs, the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK), courses to get credits for Beijing Language and Culture University, and various contests and exhibitions. The staff finished all the work for opening programs and recruiting members this vacation. The Confucian academy is expected to be the center of Chinese education and Chinese culture study in our community.
