SHIN Ilhi Wins the 5.16 People`s Prize



Shin Ilhi, the chairman of the Keimyung University Board of Trustees, won the 42nd 5.16 People`s Prize for education on May 16. Shin was acknowledged for rendering great services to the development of education and raising our country`s prestige worldwide through non-governmental diplomatic activities.

"I do not think that this prize was awarded only to me. It is for all the members of Keimyung University," Shin said in his acceptance speech. He donated the prize money of 30,000,000 won to Keimyung University. The university said this fund will be used for poor students.

The 5.16 People`s Prize was established by former president Park Jung Hee in 1966. Honorary President Shin Taesik, Shin Ilhi`s father, also won the prize in 1977.

Keimyung University Hosts International Fashion Show Celebrating 125th Anniversary On October 30th, the Department of Fashion Design hosted the International Fashion Show Celebrating Keimyung University’s 125th Anniversary at a special stage in front of the main building on Daemyung Campus. The event featured participation from prestigious fashion institutions, including Donghua University in China, Maranatha Christian University in Indonesia, Ueda College of Fashion in Japan, and the National Institute of Art and Design in Uzbekistan. French Exchange Students Cultural Adventure in Daegu On November 8th, 2024, 77 French exchange and study-abroad students participated in a unique cultural excursion in Daegu, sponsored by the DGIEA Korean-Italian Association.
