On May 16, a presentation on public service employment was held. Keimyung University Employment Support Office organized the presentation and invited Kim Ki-won, from the Korean Civil Service Commission.
The presentation was arranged to help candidates to prepare for the public service examination. It explained the procedures for selecting of candidates, test subjects, how to take the test, and the test schedule for 2007.
It also advised special preparation for the PSAT (Public Service Aptitude Test), which is being introduced in 2007. PSAT is an exam which does not appraise expert knowledge of a specific subject. Instead, it measures the basic knowledge and temperament necessary to be a public official. As such, it estimates general thinking ability, for example, logical-critical thinking ability, data analysis and information inference capacity, and judgement and decision-making ability.
Kim Ki-won said, "Passing the public service exam does not guarantee becoming a public servant. In the future, the personal interview will play a more important role."
