The 2007 Keimyung Marathon

The 2007 Keimyung Marathon, which was held by the General Student Council on May 2, was a great success. Keimyung students and staff and Daegu citizens participated. The marathon was held not only to promote our students' health and relationships, but also to celebrate the 2011 Daegu IAAF World Athletics Championships.

The marathon showed several changes from past marathons. These were the 53rd Anniversary Commemoration Prize, the 44th General Student Council Prize, and a changed marathon course. The old course linked the Dae-myeong campus and the Seong-seo campus. However, the new course is just around the Seong-seo campus. The men's 8km race started at the main gate of Seong-seo campus, and the women's 4km race started at Dae-young Dream Tec. The final destination was Bauer Hall.

Kang Bak (Business Administration 1) and Lee Yeong-sun (Chinese Classical Education 3) won the first prize in the male and female sections respectively.

The 2007 Keimyung Marathon increased individual participation by about 5 times compared to last year while the team competition disappeared. However, the problems that are pointed out every year, like bad traffic control, chaos at the opening and the closing ceremony, and poor control of the racers, reoccurred this year, so some participants were dissatisfied.
