The opening ceremony for the Keimyung Intensive Teacher Training (KITT) program was held under the auspices of the Center for International Education on March 5 in the Annex of Bauer Hall. The program`s aim is to increase the teaching skills and abilities of secondary school teachers.
Sixty-five English teachers will be trained in Keimyung University over 5 months and then they will be trained for one month in either America, at San Diego State University; or Australia, at the University of Queensland.
The teachers will stay in the English only zone of the International Guest House while taking seven kinds of English lessons: speaking, listening, reading, writing, culture/speaking, intensive listening, and teaching methodology.
The Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development has entrusted the training of secondary school English teachers to Keimyung University since 2005. Only Keimyung University and Korea National University of Education carry out this training program in Korea.
