Keimyung University’s Women Career-up Supporters

Keimyung University’s Career Development Center for College Women was set up last September. Its goal is to help Keimyung women develop their skills and abilities for getting jobs and developing successful careers. The center made a class for two credits about employment and chose its first women supporters last month. This is first time to start this program.

The supporters listen to various women as helpers. They listen to university women’s dissatisfaction and needs related to jobs and self-improvement. They gather opinions and ideas at monthly meetings and ask Keimyung University to put them into practice. Moreover, they suggest good ideas for new programs.

Supporters have several advantages: they can take ability tests for jobs, which lets them know which jobs they are suited to, and they can join various programs such as the Office of Employment Support for self-improvement. They judge which new programs are good and they decide the programs that are implemented or removed. They are given a supporters’s certificate. Above of all, they can find new information first.

The supporters work for one year and if more people are needed, new supporters will be selected when necessary. Active and kind women are desired. There isn’t an interview, but supporters are selected by documents. The center tries to recruit women from a variety of majors.

If you want more information, you can visit the Career Development Center for College Women’s office on the second floor of the building attached to the back of the old Bauer Hall. You can call 580-6246. Their website is under construction.
