Keimyung University held a meaningful event for 175 disabled people and their families in Chiri Mountain National Park on November 4 as part of the Keimyung Movement for Sharing 1% Love. This event, named “Into Autumn,” was to show the glorious tints of autumn foliage to disabled people who find it hard to climb mountains and almost always live indoors. Keimyung University prepared 50 wheelchairs to carry the disabled people and 58 Keimyung people volunteered to help them hike. The director of the event said, “There are various events for the disabled in the season around Disabled Day in April, but it is hard to find events for them in autumn. The practice of sharing love with the disabled should continue throughout the whole year.”
Keimyung University began the Keimyung Movement for Sharing 1% Love to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Keimyung’s founding as a Christian university in January 2004. Executive staff and professors voluntarily donate 1% of their monthly salary to help disabled and disadvantaged children.
