K-LACE (Korean Language and Culture Exchange) is being offered this semester. A Volunteer Korean Language Assistant leads one or two Learners. The program has 3 levels. Level 1 is for Elementary students, Level 2 is for pre-intermediate students, and Level 3 is for intermediate students. Foreign students can learn Korean necessary for their daily lives from Korean students. Also Korean students can get to foreign students and learn how to organize the necessary teaching methods for learning. Assistants are able to develop the classes they want to teach. The class is held twice a week and 1 hour per class.
Purpose of this program is to communicate with each other. Students can choose a topic such as cultures, simplest conversations, and recent issues. After the program, both Korean and foreign student participants can receive an activity certificate.
A volunteer student said “The program had improved my English conversation ability and learnt about another country’s cultures. Also, it served me as an opportunity to study our culture which I walked without thinking.”
