Students from the Department of Textile Design have painted a 60 meter wide and 2.7 meter high wall around Banwoldang Subway Station under the guidance of prof. Lee Jae-beom. The students began painting in August and their goal is to improve our community's environment. The wall painting has urban bright rhythmical images of musical movements and dancers. The main colors are mint and white. Pink and dark purple are also used to create an afterimage visual impression when seen from passing cars. They are making an effort to complete this work by November, and now the wall is 90% completed. Prof. Lee Jae-beom said that this work brought the students together through voluntary participation and united them. This project is part of the “2006 University Major-related Volunteer Program” which they had successfully applied for. The Textile Design Department is planning to keep this kind of voluntary program during vacation times and after class hours. Now many requests for wall paintings from the Seo district office and museums are flooding in.
