KMU Delivers Consolation Items for Chuseok

Keimyung University president, Synn il hi delivered consolation supplies and thanked medical staff who are having a difficult time due to the COVID-19 pandemic for the Chuseok holiday. Keimyung University delivered 360 sets of consolation items such as health food, refreshments, and beverages to Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital, Daegu Dongsan Hospital, and Dalseo-gu Health Care Center at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 16th. The specifications for this consolation item were prepared in the 1% love sharing of commandments. Keimyung University has also been consistently expressing its gratitude to medical staff by delivering 150 million won in donations to medical staff in March and delivering consolation items to Keimyung University's student council.
The Keimyung 1% Love Sharing was voluntarily organized by Keimyung University faculty members in 2004. More than 900 faculty members collect about 400 million won a year by donating 1% of their salaries. The fund is used to support scholarships and low-income families, volunteer activities abroad, provide kimchi and briquettes for the needy, and help students with incurable diseases. As part of the recent campaign to share hope to overcome COVID-19, this fund is setting an example for the local community as it provides donations and services to financially difficult and marginalized neighbors, including overseas cooperative universities and institutions such as China, Ethiopia, and Uzbekistan.
