Social Innovation Support Center

On Nov. 29th, KMU established the Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province Social Innovation Support Center. This center aims to develop a role for universities to better contribute to the community. KMU established the Social Innovation Support Centre to perform and manage the university’s role in developing the region’s future. Social responsibility granted to universities has been defined normatively under the mission of higher education in education, research, and service. However, the concept of service has been expanding recently, and while it was previously seen as a passive ‘service’concept, it is currently transforming to include ‘social innovation’  which creates new values for the community through social responsibility and solidarity within the region of universities. The centre aims to serve as a control tower for social innovation and service by establishing a cooperative network through proposing measures to foster human resources linking KMU with local governments.
