The House of Universal Helpfulness was established in 1899. It was the starting point of KMU, providing health education and medical services. When medical missionary Dr. Woodbridge Johnson founded The House of Universal Helpfulness, a missionary named Edward Adams lived with him and he focused on establishing a church, education and missionary work. Later, Edward Adams founded Keimyung Memorial University along with several other missionaries. The House of Universal Helpfulness has played a valuable role in our society through Christian philanthropy and medical care. This kind of spirit is in line with the educational philosophy of Keimyung University, which aims to open a bright light to the world.
