On May 26th, 2018, the 5th National College Debate Championship was held in Keimyung University. The debate, which marks its fifth anniversary this year, is held annually to help college students establish a debating culture and strengthen their democratic communication skills. The subject of the tournament was 'The juvenile law should be abolished.’ and final rounds of the competition was 'Unification is necessary.'
The winning team was the Jung-in team of Chung-Ang University. The four teams from Keimyung University each received third place awards, participation prizes, and various other prizes. Ji-woo Jeon, a student who participated in the competition, felt proud of his participation, “It was a great honor to have a debate, the flower of democracy, at the university, Center of Intelligence. I decided that we should pay more attention to social problems and I should improve my speech skills.”
Meanwhile, the National College Debate Championship at Keimyung has attracted more than 100 teams from about 20 universities nationwide each year, continuing the reputation of the National College Debate Championship.
