Keimyung Overseas Volunteering



Keimyung University did overseas volunteer activities during the summer vacation. Around 200 professors, school personnel, and students headed for Mongolia, Nepal, Cambodia, and the Philippines. They gave taekwondo, samulnori, and K-pop performances to show local people Korean culture.

Keimyung Caritas did activities in Valencia, the Philippines. They remodeled several elementary schools, building classrooms and flattening out playgrounds. Keimyung College focused on remodeling Bon-bon Elementary School. Dongsan Medical Center volunteered at Valencia Hospital.

The volunteer groups began their itineraries in Mongolia, which lasted 12 days, followed by Nepal and Cambodia. They made a playground in an old school and changed the color of the school building.

Synn Ilhi, Keimyung University president, said these activities were an opportunity to give help to pave the way for development.
