2016 International Symposium on Comparative Literature



On May 27, the 2016 International Symposium on Comparative Literature (the 1st Hengso Forum) was held at Dongcheon Hall. It was sponsored by the National Research Foundation of Korea. Eleven distinguished scholars from Korea, the US, Canada, the UK, Iran, China, and Japan were invited to this symposium. It went on for 8 hours with 5 sessions.

In the first session, Edith Hall and Simon Goldhill lectured about modern reinterpretation of classics. Lectures about cross-cultural adaptation and education were given by Sandra L. Beckett, Brother Anthony of Taize, Massimo Verdicchio, and Mich Nyawalo during the second and fourth sessions. Lectures about the Silk Road were given by Hideyuki Umeyama, Wang Ning, Heesoo Lee, and Daryoosh Akbarzadeh during the third and fifth sessions.
