The Current Development in Senegal

On May 19th, a special lecture was held at the international seminar room in Dongcheon Hall, which is the graduate school building.

Senegal Ambassador Mamadou Ndiaye delivered a lecture on the current development in Senegal and lessons to learn from Korea’s development experience.

The ambassador mentioned Senegal’s geographical, cultural and political merits. He also emphasized that it will be a big challenge for Senegal to introduce and apply Korean policies. He expressed his opinion that “The main part of Senegal policy should be education. It means that high-quality human resources should be trained.”

Meanwhile, Senegal, located in Africa's westernmost part, has a population of 13 million. The economic level is low, but it is well-known for having a high level of culture.
