Keimyung University was the top private regional university in the 2016 University Social Responsibility Index. This measure was designed by the Korea Social Responsibility Network (KSRN) and Tomato Corporate Social Responsibility research institute. The evaluation involved 149 private universities nationwide. A perfect score on this evaluation was 4.5. Keimyung University got an average of 3.635. Keimyung got excellent grades in various fields. The university was particularly praised in the student, community and environment categories. It was praised for educational expenses per student and scholarships, lifelong learning and volunteer work in the community, and a green campus. Ewha Woman’s University got the top place in this evaluation. Keimyung University ranked fifth.
