Keimyung University’s Confucius Academy has become a leading Chinese teaching program, recently providing scholarships to 30 students who passed the scholarship exam. This academy’s purpose is to help intelligent, international students in Korea to learn Chinese and to encourage students to learn the history and culture of China.
This year’s scholarship students consist of 18 students in their first year of training and 12 students studying for a master’s degree. Students who receive scholarship get free tuition and housing, as well as a stipend for living expenses.
KMU’s Confucius Academy plans to continue this scholarship program and expand it throughout the district to increase interest in Chinese culture and language and help students approach learning Chinese more easily.
