Relief for Earthquake Victims in Nepal



Keimyung University staff and students did aid for the earthquake victims in Nepal. Keimyung University Students’ Union and Nepal (2012, 2014) and Laos (2014) global volunteers held a charity donation in front of the campus library from April 28 to May 1.

Seo Young-hwa (Department of Law Senior), Keimyung University Students’ Union president, said, “After the Korean War, Korea was able to develop with help from worldwide relief. Therefore, it is natural to raise funds for the people of Nepal.” He announced donations will be handed over through the Embassy of Nepal

Jeon Hui-beom (Department of Sociology Senior), who participated in the global volunteer program in Nepal in 2014, said, “I was really surprised to hear the news of the earthquake in Nepal. The young children of Nepal may still be suffering. That’s too painful.” Therefore, he decided to charity a donation.

In addition, Keimyung Caritas visited the Embassy of Nepal to deliver 20 million won in donations for earthquake relief on April 28.
