KMU business of The Addiction to Gambling Clinic



On August 12, KMU was chosen to house The Addiction to Gambling Clinic organized by the Korea Center on Gambling Problems. This service provides methodical prevention, cure and rehabilitation services for gambling addicts. It also informs people through education about the seriousness of the negative and harmful effects of gambling. KMU was selected as the Daegu-Kyungbook Region licensee through last a contest managed by the Korea Center on Gambling Problems in June. KMU receives 400, 600 million won in support, and continuing ongoing work is possible, depending on the project evaluation.

For this clinic, a Task Force(TF) Team composed of members from the Department of Psychology, the Department of Nursing Science and the Department of Social Welfare has studied the prevention and cure of gambling addiction since last year. Starting with the official opening of the Daegu-Kyungbook Korea Center on Gambling Problems, KMU plans to promote this service.
