KMU Taekwondo Team Won the Competition




The Keimyung University taekwondo team won the 44th national team competition which was held in Park Jeong-hui Gym in Gumi. The contest started on June 15 and continued for 6 days. They got 3 gold medals and one bronze medal in three male weight classes.

Coach Jung Jae-jeong made a big contribution to the result of the Keimyung University team. Jung was a gold medalist at the Egypt World Taekwondo Championships in 1989 and became Keimyung University taekwondo team coach in 2009. Thanks to his teaching, many graduates became members of the national team. A professor in the College of Physical Education said that more students have participated in taekwondo competitions and more students have got a good result since his appointment.

Jung and the taekwondo team members are training hard despite being on summer vacation. He said, “I want to see the taekwondo team members get gold medals at the Asian Games, national competitions, and the Olympics.”
