KMU Wins Ad Competition

The KMU team Hot Six won the first prize at the third annual Tom N Toms advertisement competition in the section “Love Korea.” The team consisted of Kim Gyeong-ah (23, Visual Design), Ahn Ga-young (23, Visual Design), Park Su-bin (22, Japanese Studies), and Yun Song-yi (21, Daegu University).

Tom N Toms held this competition, and the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation (KOBACO) sponsored it. The competition was divided into three sections: Love Korea, Love the Environment, and Love TomTom.

The Hot Six team created an advertisement based on the idea that when something perfect has just one flaw, the flaw stands out. A young woman with broken teeth wearing traditional Korean clothing represented Korea without Dokdo. Without Dokdo, Korea is incomplete like the woman in the ad. They said, “We wanted to express the value of Dokdo Island, so we considered how to express it.”

The team leader of Hot Six, Kim Gyeong-ah, said, “I could not imagine winning the first prize. Thanks to everyone who helped us and gave us feedback.”
