Honorary Doctorate Conferment Ceremony


On November 14, a ceremony was held in Adams Chapel to confer an honorary doctorate on Chui Siliang, the president of Beijing Language and Culture University. Chui Siliang has served as a professor, a vice-president and president of Beijing Language and Culture University and has published about 50 papers.

When the KMU Confucius Institute was first opened in 2007, he helped to establish and develop the Institute and to develop the exchange between two universities. Therefore, KMU decided to award the honorary doctorate of arts to him.

In this ceremony, Synn Il-hi said, “I’m glad to award the honorary doctorate of arts to Chui Siliang because our university has established relationship with Beijing Language and Culture University for 20 years.” Moreover, Chui Siliang said, “It’s a great honor to receive the honorary doctorate from KMU.”
