On February 15, KMU students were awarded the grand prize in the Spark Design Awards held in San Francisco. They are four students from the Department of Industrial Design: Hyuntae Kim, Hyuntae Roh, Seungmin Bak, and Khanyoung Kong. The Spark Design Awards are an international design award. The awards have six sections: Apps, Concept, Communication, Mobility, Product, and Space.
The students submitted a Multi Wrench, a wrench that can be used with 5 different bolt measures, to the awards. With this wrench, people can use 5 different bolts with one wrench. Their entry won the grand prize in the concept section. The students said they made it because of inconvenience when they use a heavy wrench box which is full of wrenches and bolts.
The students prepared and participated in this competition with Keimyung University’s help. With this help, they interviewed a famous designer in the USA and got a lot of useful information from this meeting. They thanked Keimyung University for assisting them.
