President Synn Appointed as an Honorary Consul General


Keimyung University President Synn Il-hi was appointed as an honorary consul general of Korea in Poland from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Polish government on December 20th, 2012.

President Synn has been Poland’s honorary consul since October 2005. His new position’s term is 5 years.

President Synn has a deep relationship with Poland. He established the Korea-Poland Association in 1995 and served as the first president until 2006. He also established a dual-degree program with Fryderyk Chopin University of Music and opened the Keimyung F. Chopin Academy of Music in 1998.

Also, President Synn organized the “Asia-Pacific International F. Chopin Piano Competition”. Poland’s first lady, Anna Komorowska, attended the award ceremony of 2nd annual competition this year in which 120 people from 18 countries participated.

Holding a Snack Sharing Event for International Students From October 23 to 24, 2023, a snack sharing event was held at KMU's Dong-yeong Hall to cheer for the midterm exams of foreign students. The event was hosted by KMU's International Student Council and the International Cooperation Team.
