EAROPH Open Exhibition

Students from the Department of Urban Planning won the grand prize in the open poster exhibition of the EAROPH (Eastern Regional Organization of Planning and Human Settlements) Forum. This exhibition was held in Daegu EXCO from October 17 to 19. It is one event of the 23rd EAROPH World Congress.

The exhibition was held to find ideas to develop urban planning and housing policy. Keimyung University’s team advanced to the final with the topic “Green City.” Their idea was a solution for Daegu’s urban heat island. The problem can be solved by planting trees in the center of the city. They call it Green-Networks.
The team leader said there was great pressure to present their idea in English. Also, they had difficulties in 3D sketching and using Photoshop to make the poster.

EAROPH is a U.N. agency which discusses the Asian and Pacific Ocean area’s environmental problems. They hold the EAROPH World Congress once every two years to consult members on urban planning and policies.
