Special Lecture by H.E. LENGYEL Miklὁs, Ambassador The republic of Hungary


There was a special lecture by H.E. Lengyel Miklὁs, the ambassador of the Republic of Hungary at the Hengso Museum on Wednesday ,May 2nd. The topic of the lecture was “My experience in Korea”. The special lecture began with opening remarks by Dr. Seo Jung-Soo, Director of International Affairs , and a welcoming address by Synn Il-hi, President of Keimyung University. H.E. Lengyel Miklὁs started his work at the Hungarian Embassy in North Korea as the third secretary in 1986, and now he is the Hungarian Ambassador to South Korea.

H.E. Lengyel Miklὁs can speak English, Korean, Russian, French, and German, so he used both English and Korean alternately in his speech to make sure the audience easily understood. H.E. Lengyel Miklὁs said that although it has been only 20 years since Korea established diplomatic ties with Hungary, there were many exchanges between two nations unofficially before establishing diplomatic ties.

During his speech, he said he had a plan to publish a book based on his experiences in Korea and suggested people read his book.
His major point in the lecture was his experience in Korea and that he wanted to improve the relationship between Hungary and Korea. H.E. Lengyel Miklὁs ended the lecture with a question and answer period.
