Acta Koreana

A Koreanology journal published by Keimyung University will be registered on the Arts and Humanities Citation index (A&HCI). A&HCI is a citation index in the humanities published by Thomson Reuters’ Healthcare Science division. It is known as an authoritative citation index like the Science Citation Index (SCI) and the Social Science Citation Index (SSCI).

There are only 6 journals in Korea that are registered on A&HCI including Seoul Journal of Koreana published by Kyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies (KIKS). Among the universities that have registered journals, Keimyung University is the third registered on A&HCI after Seoul National University and Sungkyunkwan University.

Lee Yun-gap, the president of Academia Koreana, said, “I am very glad that Acta Koreana is officially approved as an international academic journal that contributes to globalizing Koreanology and helps Koreanology researchers to exchange information with each other.”

The first issue of Acta Koreana was published in 1998. Now Acta Koreana consists of various articles related to Koreanology such as theses, translated literature, book reviews, and interviews. It will be distributed to institutes for Koreanology all around the world from this year for free.
