Special Lecture by Cinematographer


December 6th, a producer, and cinematographer Sam Cullman and Lois Vossen visited Kemyung University for giving a special lecture. Sam Cullman established Yellow Cake Films in 2006 after graduating from Brown university where he had majored in urban studies and the visual arts. He made the Why We Fight and What would Jesus Buy? which awarded the first prize in the Sun Dance film festival. He also has a career as director of photography and his movie, Eugene Jarecki's won the the Sundance Grand Jury Prize.

And Lois Vossen is the director of Independent Lens which won the Emmy. Vossen was also the director of broadcast, distribution & communications at ITVS. And she has served as the jury at SXSW, DOCNZ, Toronto International Film Festival, and so on.

This two producers in this lecture dealt with the documentary, 'If the Tree Falls' made by Sam Cullman. Sam Cullman said "Good documentary directors reacts and notice situations around them. Also, They can make good film focusing on their everyday life.

And he explained that he wanted to focus on the terrorism and other view points in 'If The Tree Falls'.

Two producers started lecture at 10:00 p.m. and lasted for an hour. They had question and answer time.
