Special Lecture by Announcer Jang Jin-yeong

On September 22, broadcast announcer Jang Jin-yeong’s special lecture was held in the multimedia room at New Bauer Hall. She is an announcer at TBC (Tomorrow’s Broadcasting Corporation). The title of the lecture was ‘The way to communicate well.’ She talked about her experiences being an announcer.

She advised, “If you want to be an announcer, proper tone is the basis for everything else. Also, the expression and posture should be right. In addition, the most important thing is an ability to deliver. The language delivers one’s thinking effectively and persuades people. You have to grow the essential parts of your stories, not unimportant external or technical parts.

First, you should talk honestly. You have to be yourself. You shouldn’t deny the present or ignore the past. Second, you should listen to people. Third, you have to listen for the real intention of people. You must not only listen for your point of view.

She also added, “A soft answer turns away wrath. You should talk honestly, and truthfully. Then your words will have greater meaning.”
