Keimyung Students’ Work in Art Festival

On June 27, 17 students from the Department of Photography and Image Design had their works selected in the photography section of the 2011 Asian Students and Young Artists Art Festival (ASYAAF).

ASYAAF has been held every year since 2008. Undergraduates, graduate students, and under 30-year-old creative students from Asian countries like Korea, Japan, China, India, Indonesia, and the Philippines participate in ASYAAF. It has 6 fields – Western painting, Korean painting, engraving, photography, crafts, and media art. In 2011, 3182 people submitted their works, and 777 people were selected. In photography, 80 people were selected.

Kim Yong-seok (senior, Dept. of Photography and Image Design), one of the winners, said, “I want to thank my nude model. It was hard for me to color my photograph. I scanned my black-and-white photograph, and then I colored it. However, luckily, I got a good result, so I am happy. I will work harder. I want to be a good photographer who is recognized by the public.”

Selected works from the 2011 ASYAAF will be exhibited and sold in Hongik Museum of Art from July 27 to August 22.
