Social Enterprise Program

Keimyung University was selected as an institution for fostering social enterprises by the Social Enterprise Promotion Agency (KoSEA). Keimyung will receive about 800 million to 1.2 billion won each year.

A social enterprise is a company which pursues philanthropic activities like offering jobs to people who have difficulty getting a job, for example, people who can’t get enough education and poor people. Social enterprises want to improve the quality of life in local communities.

Keimyung University is going to support more than 120 students who want to be artists. It will give students special rooms in which they can make plans for their business, funds, and mentors to establish social enterprises after they graduate from university. Also, the University will provide access to facilities like Keimyung Art Center and Haedam Concert Hall to students who participate in this program. They have plans to make over 21 social enterprises in the field of performing arts.
